This is a song about my sister that was murdered, I wrote it in 1998 and it is copy written. It was a poem and then I got inspired to turn it into a song.
"Dodies Cry"
Hard to believe it's your Birthday, 17 years have gone bye.
So many things I want to share with you and realy hear a reply.
I know you listen when I pray, See your children grow day by day.
They know you Love them, how you tryed to care for them but your life was taken away.
I must go on day bye day.
Sister I wanted to help, I was a child, I knew how you felt before that night. Dodies cries were loud and clear, no one could help her pain and fear.
Praying to God as death draws near, Dodies cry, know one could help, Dodies cry.
Looking back on the day they came to share with us your terrible fate, by a man who said, "I Love You", yet He put you in your grave.
The Lord says foregive him, that I must do, I won't foreget the Sister I once knew.
With long hair of gold and eyes so blue, like a flower that just bloomed, this is how I remember you, Dodies cries were loud and clear, no one could help her pain and fear, Dodies cry, know one could help Dodies cry.
For now I go on seeing you as you were, in happy times not through the hurt, I do shed tears from time to time, longing to see that Sister of mine.
Without any tears, you don't have to cry, for there are no tears in Heavens bye and bye.
The Lord, He took you, there he will keep you, one day I know I too will greet you in Heavens Bye and Bye.
Now no one can ever hurt you, your tears are all dryed, God's Love will surround you because He heard Dodies cry.
I dedicate this to my Beautiful, older sister, I Love You Dodie!!!
